This page informs you of our policies regarding collecting, using, and disclosing Personal Information when you use our website. We value privacy, consent, and security and will treat your information with respect.

Who We Are

Fokuspoint Photography (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the website www.fokuspointphotography.com (the “Service”).

What Personal Data We Collect And Why We Collect It

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include but is not limited to, your email address and name, personal account preferences; transactional data, such as purchase information; and technical data, such as information about cookies.

We collect this information for the purpose of communicating with you via our newsletter (Mailchimp), responding to your requests/inquiries (contact form), and improving our services.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Keep in mind that the personal information and content you voluntarily share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You will be responsible for the information you share or submit.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Forms

The contact form plugin requires at least one day of data storage. This is to ensure that all entry processing is complete before deleting it. The number of days setting is a minimum, not an exact period of time. The trashing/deleting occurs during the daily cron task, so some entries may appear to remain up to a day longer than expected.

The information you submit will not be sold or used for marketing purposes.

Do Not Track Disclosure

We support Do Not Track (“DNT”). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked.

You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting your web browser’s Preferences or Settings page, or you can see instructions over at the CookieYes Blog.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that 3rd party website.

Third-Party Font Usage

This site does not use fonts that are stored and delivered by third-party services like Adobe, Google, or others.

How Long Do We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, tax, or security purposes.

International Transfer

Your information, including Personal Information, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those from your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the information, including Personal Information, to the United States and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy, followed by your submission of such information, represents your agreement to that transfer.

Visitor comments will be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Compliance With Laws

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of our Service.

Server Log Data

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. Financial information is not stored on this website.

However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we are unable to guarantee the absolute security of the Personal Information we may have collected from you.

Our Service may contain links to other sites not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third-party’s site. We strongly advise you to review every site’s privacy policy.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for any third-party sites or services’ content, privacy policies, or practices.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of February 15, 2024. It will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time, and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide by and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
