This year’s travels took me to Germany, where I visited family and friends. One of the outings was to the weekly farmer’s market (three times per week) in Offenbach, a city next to Frankfurt. The farmer’s market at the Wilhelmsplatz in Offenbach is one of the largest, if not the largest, in the region, and also one of the most beautiful. The latter is my opinion. Feel free to make up your own mind. The vegetables and fruits you can buy are typically fresh and mostly locally grown. Below are a few photographs I took while walking around the market.
Just before my vacation, I sold some of my photo gear. I traded it in for two new-to-me, but pre-owned Voigtländer lenses. I bought them from Adorama’s used department. The photos on this page were captured using the small and lovely Ultron 27mm f/2 lens for the Fujifilm FX mount. The lens was classified as ‘heavy use’. The only thing I can see is a bit of the black paint rubbed off in some sections. I have to look for it; it’s not very obvious. The glass is clean. The lens performs great. Everything works smoothly. And yes, it is a manual lens, but it has a chip that tells my camera what aperture has been used – that is nice. I almost prefer manual over autofocus lenses – almost, because sometimes autofocus is good to have. One thing was missing: the lens hood. Since I don’t like to be without one, I ordered one from Squarehood. To my delight, it arrived in time for my trip to Germany.
The lens is a delight to use. The image quality is great and the 41mm focal length (full frame equivalent) suits me well.

Potatoes galore
Each box contains a different type of potatoes. In my neck of the woods we mainly get Russet, Yukon Gold, or Red Potatoes.

Last but not least – Flowers
It is nice to end a page with flowers. Don’t you think?
